We have been living in France for almost a year now and have left the Netherlands behind. In the Netherlands, we both had busy jobs: Patrick in electrical engineering and Marlous as a social worker.
For years, we had dreamed of moving abroad. More peace, more space around us to enjoy nature more. About 1.5 years ago, everything came together and the dreams became reality: the children had left home, the house market in the Netherlands was good, and Marlous’s job allowed us to continue working online. We were able to leave!
After a relatively short search, we had found our place: an old mill from 1870 on the River Neste at the foot of the Pyrenees. Everything came together here: peace, space, and nature. Yet still relatively close by.
